The world of filming, whether for cinema, commercials, music videos, or any other audiovisual project, is a fascinating universe, constantly in motion and full of challenges.
Having grown up within Loca Images, the company founded by my father, Mr. Tass, I witnessed the transformations of this profession long before officially taking up my position in 1994. Suffice to say that some of you probably watched me grow up, as I was always in my father’s footsteps!
I remember a time when the weight of cameras and battery belts was a real burden. The profession of camera operator was almost exclusively male, and even for the most robust, the pain and injuries related to the workload were commonplace. Today, things have changed. Thanks to technological advances and a growing awareness of the importance of operator well-being, carrying and stabilization tools now allow operators to work for extended hours while minimizing physical fatigue and the risk of injury. This evolution has also opened the doors of the profession to a greater diversity of talents, regardless of their build.
At Loca Images, we understood early on that the key to a successful shoot lies as much in the quality of the equipment as in the comfort of those who use it. That is why we have invested in a range of ergonomic carrying solutions, from Steadicam vests like the Fawcett Exovest to innovative exoskeletons, through various harnesses and supports adapted to every situation.
We offer a wide range of solutions, from the INOVATIV Scout 37 for transporting equipment on set, to the ReadyRig GS Vega with pro arms for extended Steadicam use, including the Easyrig Vario 5 with STABIL arm for lighter setups. Each product has been selected for its ability to reduce physical stress and improve the operator’s working conditions.
Because equipment that is poorly adapted to the operator’s build is not just inefficient: it can also be dangerous. That is why it is crucial to have tailored solutions.
Our commitment to the well-being of filming professionals is also part of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy. We are proud to have received the Ecovadis Platinum medal, recognition of our dedication to sustainable and ethical practices.
From my earliest memories at Loca Images to my current position, I have seen our industry evolve and adapt. As a woman heading an equipment rental company, I am happy to contribute to a safer, more comfortable, and more inclusive filming environment.
Protecting your back and joints is not just a necessity, it is an absolute priority, and I am determined to provide the best tools to achieve this.
With the team, we have selected the following products which have been available for rental for some time now:
