The 46th edition of the festival came to a close after a week full of screenings and events highlighting films from the Balkan region, a unique film craft that we don’t often have the opportunity to discover in such depth in French theaters.

Unlike most film festivals, the Manaki Brothers festival is unique since it tends to steer clear of big-budget films, often from the United States or Western Europe, in favor of independent films produced by countries with more limited resources but just as much creativity.

Here are the winners of this year’s festival, which was full of wonderful discoveries and had many surprises in store for us:
